Cole - Personal Branding Photography Session

When Cole first reached out to me, he was looking for some personal branding images to use for his resume-writing business. The main goal of the photography session was to update Cole’s online presence with photos that were casual, warm, and welcoming while maintaining a professional look.
We met up at Cole’s office space at WeWork to snap some of his portraits
Keeping things simple
We spent a couple hours trying out some different locations and poses and kept it simple with a single wardrobe option. Although having a variety of clothing options can be useful for creating multiple ‘looks’ during a personal branding/lifestyle shoot, we opted for just the one clothing combo.
Cole’s choice of clothing maintained a professional look, while also letting his personal style and taste stand out. Personal branding is all about authenticity, so we stuck with what worked.
Collaborative effort
Both Cole and I approached this session with a common goal, but we kept the session relaxed. Being open to conversation improved the collaborative dynamic between us, which resulted in a successful shoot.
I can’t expect a client to be relaxed if I’m not relaxed, so I approach each session with an open mind and let things flow as needed. It feels intuitive for me and I can’t quite explain how it works, but Cole’s five-star review certainly speaks to the success of my methods:
